The Madan Mohan Temple is located on a small hill near the Yamuna River, close to the Kaliya Ghat in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. It is about 10–15 minutes from Banke Bihari Temple by auto-rickshaw or on foot, and is one of the oldest temples in the area, offering scenic views of the river and Vrindavan town.

The Madan Mohan Temple is one of the seven principal temples of Vrindavan and holds deep spiritual importance in Gaudiya Vaishnavism. It was the first temple established in Vrindavan by Sanatan Goswami, a close associate of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. The presiding deity, Madan Mohan, is a form of Lord Krishna that helps attract the hearts of devotees and deepens their devotion.

The original Madan Mohan deity was discovered by Sanatan Goswami and later housed in the temple built by Kapur Ram Das, a wealthy trader from Multan, in the 16th century. During the Mughal invasions, the original deity was moved to Karauli, Rajasthan, for safety. The current temple still houses a replica deity and remains a revered site for pilgrims and historians alike.

The Madan Mohan Temple is usually open from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. It is a peaceful place with fewer crowds compared to other temples in Vrindavan, making it ideal for quiet darshan, meditation, and photography of its historic red sandstone architecture.

The best time to visit is during the cooler months from October to March, especially during Kartik month, when the temple and ghats are beautifully lit with diyas. The temple also sees a spiritual atmosphere during festivals like Janmashtami and Radhashtami, though it remains less crowded than other nearby temples, offering a more serene experience.
